A one day training workshop was held on the 16th of July, 2011 at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanskrutik Bhavan, Pune. This workshop basically aimed at bringing together the shortlisted fellows of the Pune Beehive Fellowbee Program, training them on ‘how’ and ‘what’ to focus on while ‘writing’. 29 fellows were present in all. They were given a set which consisted of 3 brochures (namely PIF, The Beehive and Pune Beehive Fellowbee Program), Fellowbee guide book with its various attachments like sample articles, resource collection form etc.

2 well known writers namely Mr. Anil Avchat and Mr. Suhas Kulkarni were invited as guest speakers. They spoke about their personal experiences as writers, provided certain guidelines with interesting illustrations etc.. The workshop was a highly interactive one, where the fellows asked numerous questions which were very well answered by both speakers. After the lunch break, the PIF team took the workshop forward. There was a brief orientation to the Pune Beeehive, its social cause and how it works. The set given was explained part by part. 5 groups were formed (according to the subjects) based on each fellow’s choice. Sample articles of the global content were distributed subject wise. The fellows were assigned work for the following 15 days. This assignment involved, reading the global content provided, doing other research, reading various newspapers to build in awareness about the current issues related to the subject each has chosen and then writing an article on the same.

The fellows exchanged their contact numbers, email ids etc within their group. The workshop ended on a happy note with everyone excited and looking forward to meeting again.
